“10-4, Station. This is Murray City 6-Alpha-2-4 requesting back-up from your department. We're in high-speed pursuit of a 1962 Volkswagen matching the description of vehicle driven by suspect in an attempted robbery, license plate whiskey oscar whiskey one one one.”
“Your 10-20, 6-Alpha-2-4?”
“Station, this is 6-Alpha-2-4. Location is northbound on State Street at approximately 5500 South.”
“Roger, 6-Alpha-2-4. Sheriff units have been dispatched.”
“Roger, Station.”
“6-Alpha-2-4, have received and confirmed identity of suspect. Do not, say again, do NOT engage suspect. Driver is suspected to be the terrorist Gaul d'Laques and is considered armed and dangerous.”
“Roger, Station. Suspect now proceeding north on State Street nearing the intersection of 53rd South.”
“6-Alpha-2-4, state traffic condition.”
“Station, traffic sparse. See your two back-up units southbound on State Street.”
“Affirmative, 6-Alpha-2-4. State pursuit speed.”
“47 mph, Station.”
“Uh…6-Alpha-2-4, say again.”
“Roger, Station. 47 mph.”
“Station? Do you copy?”
“Station?”
“6-Alpha-2-4, you did report this as a high-speed chase, did you not?”
“Affirmative, Station. This is a 1962 VW after all, Station; 47 mph probably appears to be the top speed.”
“Okay, 6-Alpha-2-4. 47 mph it is. Our units report seeing the Volkswagen but see no pursuit vehicle.”
“Right, Station, well, that's understandable. We're on bicycles.”
