Loku

really bad haiku

by Rick Walton

A town full of flies:
Five fat frogs sit in the square
Counting stolen wings.

A swarm of white moths:
Caterpillars crawling off:
Who ate my necktie?

After seventeen
Comes eighteen and then nineteen
And then comes twenty.

First come the long rains,
Then the fire of the sun, and
Fried worms on the walk.

Green leaf on the tree,
Green blade of grass on the lawn,
Green frog in my nose.

I run down the road,
And then darkness. Just darkness.
FIX THESE DARN POTHOLES!

I walk the river,
Ignoring rocks and rubble,
And the piranhas.

I am a cupcake.
I am a chocolate cupcake.
I am a cupcake.

Oh, supercali,
Oh, fragilistic expi,
Oh, alidocious.

Oh rutabaga,
Oh, oh, rutabaga, oh,
Oh, rutabaga

Penguin knocks three times.
That's the signal. I let him
Out of the freezer.

Robin in the tree
Sings its song and doesn't see
The cat behind it.

Scarecrow in the corn,
Put down your knife and fork, and
Quit eating the crows!

Snake infested swamp:
My seventh birthday party:
Three friends were eaten.

The moon rises slow,
Spreads its light on the township,
And falls in my soup.

There's rain on the roof,
At least the rain would fall there
If we had a roof.

Toaster on a hill.
I give it my slices of bread,
But it ignores me.

Whale in the bathtub,
You splash in my water, but
There's no room for me.
