Once upon a time there were three billion goats Gruff. One day they noticed that all the grass was gone in their meadow. So they decided to cross the river to the new meadow, where the grass was tall and green.
The 1st billy goat began to cross the bridge over the river. Trip-trap, trip-trap.
"Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge," said a troll who lived under the bridge.
"It is I, the 1st billy goat Gruff," said the 1st billy goat Gruff.
"Great!" said the troll. "I will eat you!"
"Don't eat me," said the 1st billy goat Gruff. "Wait for my brother, who follows me. He's bigger and fatter."
The troll liked the idea of a bigger, fatter goat, so he let the 1st goat go.
Along came 2nd billy goat began to cross the bridge over the river. Trip-trap, trip-trap.
"Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge," said a troll who lived under the bridge.

"Great!" said the troll. "I will eat you!"
