If you make a donation to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, (see "How to Donate" below) I will do the following:

For a donation of $100...
...I will critique your picture book manuscript.

For a donation of $200...
... I will spend an hour with you on the phone, or in person, answering your every question.

For a donation of $500...
...I will name a character in one of my future published books after the person of your choice. Or...
...I will rewrite your picture book manuscript as well as I can, as though it were my own. No guarantee of publication. If the book does sell, half of the proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

For a donation of $1000...
...I will rewrite your picture book manuscript as well as I can, as though it were my own. No guarantee of publication. You own the copyright, and if the book does sell, you keep all the proceeds. Or...
...I will dedicate one of my books to the person or persons of your choice. Or...
...I'll spend the day, eight hours, as your personal writing tutor. I'll answer all your questions, tell you everything I know, critique your manuscripts, help you write your manuscripts, whatever you want.

For a donation of $2000...
...I will do a full day writing workshop, eight hours, for the group of your choice. If the workshop is far enough away that I'll need to stay overnight, I'll need my expenses paid.

for a donation of $2500...
...I'll spend a day doing assemblies and workshops at the Utah school of your choice. Outside of Utah, e-mail me. If the workshop is far enough away that I'll need to stay overnight, I'll need my expenses paid.

for a donation of ???...
... Make me an offer. What would you like me to do? And how much would you donate?

check back occasionally for other options. I plan to have some in the less than $100 price range, for those who would like to donate, but are short on funds.

How to Donate

1. E-mail me telling me what service you would like for your donation. Get my confirmation that I can do it.

2. Go to my Fox Foundation web page.

3. Fill in the information on the requested information.

For those who don't already know, I have chosen Parkinson's research because I have Parkinson's disease. Mine is in the early stages and is progressing slowly. But it has awakened me to a whole world of need and possibility. If you have a different disease for which you wish to encourage a cure, and want to also barter for donations, I'll be happy to link to your site.

If you believe in the possibilities of bartering for donations, and would like to help expand this idea, or if you or your organization are able to sponsor and/or coordinate a network of artists, professionals, and others with something to give, who would like to barter for donations, let me know.
