Write Your Own Little Dogs Say "Rough"

1. Brainstorm animals that are not in Little Dogs Say Rough.

2. What sounds do those animals make?

3. What might those sounds mean? Do they sound kind of like other words?

4. Write about what the animals mean. It doesn't have to be in the same format as Little Dogs Say "Rough". For example, "Little Ducks say 'Crack Crack, my egg's starting to hatch."

Variations

1. Write about sounds around the house. What does the dishwasher say? The alarm clock? The vacuum cleaner?

2. Write about vehicle sounds. What does the car say? The train? The plane?

3. Write about nature sounds. What the thunder say? The rain? The river?
