Activities for: How Can You Dance?

  1. Play "I Spy"

    1. Choose someone to be "It". They say, "I spy with my little eye something that moves."
    2. Kids then start asking yes/no questions to help them figure out what "It" sees.
    3. When someone guesses right, someone else, perhaps the person who guessed correctly, is "It".

Variation. Play "I'm Thinking Of..." The game is played the same as "I Spy", but "It" doesn't have to be able to see the thing they're thinking of.

  2. Have the kids perform the actions for each dance.

  3. How do you dance if you dance like...yourself?

  8. Play "Simon Says". Choose a player to be Simon. Simon stands in front of the class. The rest of the players stand by their chairs. Simon gives the players instructions to perform a movement that they can do where they are. (Jump up and down. Wave your arms. Pat yourself on your head.) If Simon prefaces the instructions with "Simon Says...", then the players perform the action. If Simon does not say "Simon Says...", then the players should not perform the action. If they do perform the action, then they are out and sit down. The last player standing is the winner and gets to be the next Simon.
